Hmmm ... Again the traffic markings are colored out and not repainted. It seems those who are in charge are not aware of the importance of traffic markings on the pavement. Anyway, here is Bahar Street, a lovely street in Sajjad neighborhood. On holidays, the congestion in this street is awful.

Hotel Homa

We went out yesterday evening to have some walk, with my parents and our guests. We walked to Hotel Homa where has a nice environment to spend some time: a traditional cafe, a small park, play ground and some shops.

Rain Forests of Iran

Rain Forests of Iran are located in the Northern part of the country and south of the Caspian Sea, which stretch from the West provinces to the East, to the Khorasan province where Mashhad is the capital of it. We do not have jungles in or around Mashhad; the nearest jungles are about 500 km far from the city.

Iran is one of the world's most mountainous countries. Iran has a variable climate. In the northwest, winters are cold with heavy snowfall and subfreezing temperatures during December and January. Spring and fall are relatively mild, while summers are dry and hot. In the south, winters are mild and the summers are very hot, having average daily temperatures in July exceeding 38 °C (100 °F). The Northern part of Iran is covered under thick rain forests and the eastern part consists mostly of desert basins.

More than one-tenth of the country is forested. The most extensive growths are found on the mountain slopes rising from the Caspian Sea. The land covered by Iran’s natural flora is four times that of the Europe’s.

With an area of 1,648,000 square kilometers, Iran ranks sixteenth in size among the countries of the world. Iran is about one-fifth the size of the continental United States, or slightly larger than the combined area of the contiguous states of California, Arizona, Nevada, Oregon, Washington, and Idaho.

This is a Donation Box, made of metal. We have lots of these boxes all around the city, in each neighborhood, in each street, in each stop, every where. Iranians believe they will have a good day if they start the day with making a donation, even a small donation as much as a small coin. In fact this is what the Islam suggests us to do.
